This highly controversial abandonment of Mr Bradford & Mr Bingley ruffled feathers on a national scale initially, but much more importantly raised the brand from NUMBER 17 in a public awareness poll to NUMBER 2. (They were never going to be number 1 as Halifax were regularly spending 8 times B&B’s media budget). So they were quite happy with the Silver!
